Meet Walter – A Gentle Giant with a Big Heart & a Second Chance Ahead

Walter is a handsome 6-year-old male Lab mix, weighing approximately 82 lbs, who is now available for adoption after completing his stray hold at the Rockwall Adoption Center. He was found on Lake Estates Drive in Rockwall on 11/18/25 wearing a collar and with an unregistered microchip, but sadly, no owner ever came forward.

Now, Walter is ready for a fresh start and a loving forever home. This big, beautiful boy has been settling in well and is eager to find a family of his own. A meet-and-greet is encouraged to ensure the best possible match.

Medical Update

Walter is fully vetted and adoption ready:

Neutered, Microchipped, Current on Rabies vaccination, DAPPV & Bordetella.

Walter did test heartworm positive, but thanks to the lifesaving support of Rockwall PAWS, his heartworm treatment is sponsored and he is able to begin treatment immediately. If you have any questions about heartworms or Walter’s treatment plan, shelter staff are happy to walk you through the process.
