Hi! My name is Tuff! I am a 2-year-old male, heartworm positive Pit mix that is currently available for adoptions at Rockwall Adoptions. I was originally found stray off of Dianna Rd. on 02/02/22 and brought to the shelter. Sadly, my owners never reclaimed me. So now I am available for adoption and looking for a family to love. Rac staff hasn't been able to find me a doggy friend just yet. It appears I want to interact with other dogs, I just don't know how. So right now, I would require a meet and greet if you have other pets in the home. It appears I have some confidence issues, more so around men, but I do warm up quickly and am starting to trust more quickly than in the beginning. I am an incredibly sweet boy who will snuggle with you for as long as you will let me! I really LOVE belly rubs!  I'm not great on a leash just yet; BUT RAC staff works with me every day and so far, I've been, making lots of progress and it's easy to see I'm giving it all I got.  I 'm hoping to be adopted by a patient family and one that is willing to love me through it as well as continue my training at home.  I also enjoy bones and comfy beds. Bones are super delicious! I haven't found my favorite toy yet, but I also act like I have never been given a toy before. Maybe my new family will teach me how to play with them. I can't wait to be adopted and finally have my very own family to love me furever! Once adopted, and thanks to donations made to Rockwall PAWS, I will be able to start heartworm treatment protocol within a couple weeks and receive treatment between 30 and 60 days after that! Treatment costs are expensive and even for rescues like Rockwall PAWS, treatment for a dog my size can easily be $500 or more!  Heartworms are fatal is left untreated, so heartworm treatment is vital in order for me to be able to live a long a healthy life!
