Meet Montana, a 2-year-old Shepherd mix weighing 56 lbs who is on the road to recovery after a difficult start. He was surrendered to Rockwall Adoptions when his owners were unable to properly care for him and arrived with a large neck laceration caused by a collar that had been too tight for too long. Montana is currently receiving treatment and healing both physically and emotionally.
Despite his past, Montana is a sweet dog who is beginning to open up. He walks decently on a leash and will need a patient, loving family committed to helping him continue to heal and learn what being a dog is all about. Due to his condition at intake, he has not yet been paired with other dogs. Meet and greets will be required for homes with existing pets.
Montana is neutered, microchipped, current on rabies, and boosters are up to date. He is heartworm positive, and thanks to Rockwall PAWS, his treatment is sponsored. Donations help cover the cost of lifesaving heartworm treatment and allow more dogs like Montana to receive the care they need while waiting for adoption.
