HAPPY UPDATE: BUDDY HAS BEEN ADOPTED!

Buddy has officially found his forever home.

This resilient 1 year old Shepherd/Pit mix came to us after being found injured and unable to use his front right leg. Due to severe nerve damage, his leg was amputated on April 15, 2026. Through it all, Buddy showed incredible strength as he recovered and adjusted to life on three legs.

Buddy is also heartworm positive, but thanks to the generous support of Rockwall PAWS, his treatment is sponsored so he can continue receiving the care he needs after adoption.

His adoption is a wonderful ending to his shelter story, but the need for medical support continues.

Donations to Rockwall PAWS help cover Buddy’s heartworm treatment and also help provide care for other pets at Rockwall Adoption Center who may arrive injured, sick, heartworm positive, or in need of treatment beyond routine shelter care.

Buddy got his second chance. Your support helps make the next one possible.

Thank you to everyone who supported Buddy, shared his story, and helped him get to this point. And thank you to his new family for giving this special boy the loving home he deserves.

Happy Tails, Buddy!
