HAPPY UPDATE: ATHENA HAS BEEN ADOPTED!

Athena has officially found her forever home.

This sweet 2 year old Pit mix came to Rockwall Adoption Center after being found near Lakeshore and never reclaimed. Though she could be a little shy at first, Athena showed just how gentle and affectionate she could be once she felt safe.

Athena is also heartworm positive, but thanks to Rockwall PAWS, her treatment is sponsored so she can continue receiving the care she needs after adoption.

Her adoption is the happy ending we hoped for, but the need for medical support continues.

Donations to Rockwall PAWS help cover Athena’s heartworm treatment and also help provide care for other pets at Rockwall Adoption Center who may arrive sick, injured, heartworm positive, or in need of treatment beyond routine shelter care.

Athena found her second chance. Your support helps make the next one possible.

Thank you to everyone who supported Athena, shared her story, and helped her reach this moment. And thank you to her new family for choosing adoption and giving her the loving home she deserved.

🐾 Happy Tails, Athena!
